Most modern day industrial scales are digital floor scales. They do not have a needle that rises or falls depending on the size of the load on the scale. Digital scales have a display window in which numbers appear, showing the weight of whatever has been placed on the scale.

While at such a company that biochemist might find it necessary to use a different sort of floor scale. The biochemist might need to work with a technician in order to place a gas cylinder on a cylinder scale.
While a biochemist seldom takes on the task of growing cells in a culture dish, a biochemist might well want to analyze the liquid from such a dish. In that case, the biochemist might work closely with the researchers who are responsible for culturing plant, animal or human cells.
After cells go into a culture dish, they get placed into an incubator. Carbon dioxide from a metal cylinder is fed into that incubator.
